3.5 great | ajcollins15 | February 29th 24 | If you're a fan of the post-rock and math rock stylings of And So I Watch You From Afar, then you'll feel right at home with the sophomore release from A Burial At Sea. "Close to Home" offers an anthemic and intricate approach to post-rock, guiding listeners through grandiose passages filled with memorable moments. The incorporation of horns and saxophone adds a unique depth to several tracks. However, the album often treads too closely to familiar territory explored by bands that have previously delved into the post-rock and math rock combination, such as the aforementioned ASIWYFA and Slint.
