Review Summary: I've left behind, everything you killed inside.

As we get older we find ourselves stuck in the day-to-day grind of everything being the same. Routine becomes more like a must that feels weird when you divert from it. Maybe that’s just me (it’s not) and stems from larger problems that I am blissfully ignorant too. I have had this most of my life, and to counteract that I used a lot of drugs. I’ve tried most drugs at least once, because you don’t know until you know. Right?

The Plot In You are just like taking drugs for bellovddd. They make me really happy and energetic, but then I have the comedown and I’m hit with an emotional wave of ‘***ING HELL’. The EP sums up those emotions with 3 simple tracks. With two Nu-Metal/Metalcore inspired tracks that hit you with big bassy riffs and uncleans from Landon who sounds as unhinged as ever. The breakdown to ‘Forgotten’ being the moment on the EP that lets you know if you are here to stay or not. If you cringe, move right along if you smile, then stay.

‘Divide’ and ‘Forgotten’ are tracks dedicated to ones we have lost along the way to drugs. Be it an overdose or simply not being the person they once were, the lyrics are harsh but honest. Do we stand by the ones who are addicted and need help the most? Or do we turn a blind eye and let them walk the path they choose? I have my opinion, how about you?

‘Left Behind’ was the emotional wave that I was anticipating when going in. Landon’s got a way with words that are simple, but damn relatable and every single one here has helped me move on from a bad relationship. The chorus is huge and is made for packed venues. The riffing whilst being nothing technical is catchy and moves up the fret board in a positive manner which goes along with the message behind the track.

Drugs have helped me block out everything I dislike about life, and I’ve fallen back on them to help myself when I needed it the most. Whilst I smoke a bit of weed now, I have found other outlets. My kids and music being the main two that keep me smiling and ‘Left Behind’ is an ode to all of that.

Swan Song was very hit or miss.... which sums up a lot of their stuff but I am digging the later releases.

Thanks Onion! Keep on keeping on.
