Release Date: 2010 | Tracklist

It has only been in the last past year that bands from Worship Black Twilight are finally getting the recognition they so rightly deserve. While the group has had many releases in prior years, such as Ashdautas 2005 full length Shadow Plays of Grief and Pain and Volahn's 2008 record Dimensiónes del Trance Kósmico, it wasn't really until the Worship Black Twilight compiliation of 2009 was released that California based black metal circle started getting the attention it really deserved. Featuring one song from the six Worship Black Twilight bands (Arizmenda, Volahn, Ashdautas, Axeman, Kallathon, and the recently revealed Kuxan Suum) the album featured some of the best black metal from 2009. Now, in the 2010, the most recent addition to Worship Black Twilight, Axeman, have released their first demo entitled Arrive and further displays the excellence the group with undoubtedly be known for in the near future.

What makes the relatively short Arrive release so great, is the tremendous diversity shown on each track. Album opener, "Metnaol" starts out with creepy keyboard ambiance and melodic clean picked guitar runs. The track does not remain so peaceful for long however, as it soon erupts into a full tilt blackened thrash track, complete with a scorching guitar solo. Throughout the song, it goes back and forth between a more thrash inspired form of black metal, so an even more chaotic punk influenced form of black metal. Axeman ring- leader and sole member V shows some great talent on guitar (with the opening solo) and also on the drums, with some crazy beats. Last song "Attestor of Doom & Rebirth" proves to be the most straight up black metal song on the album. Between some death metal type riffs and hardcore styled drumming, V manages to slip in some excellent tremolo picked guitars and even some fearsome blast beats. While Axeman's music is quite intense, it never takes the turn into truly brutal territory, retaining enough sense of melody to keep the music listenable.

With Axeman's amazing Arrive Worship Black Twilight releases their first of hopefully many albums in 2010. Whether it be another release from Axeman, or an album from one of the other fantastic bands, Worship Black Twilight will no doubt be on the minds of thousands of black metal fans all over the world.
