3.0 good | PortalofPerfection | October 12th 23 | Have to agree with the other Soundoffs here. Some really great ideas and good deal of passion behind them but falls nearly flat on the execution. rFirst two tracks are amazing, but then the next two starkly demonstrate why the vocals and production just don't work here. Guy tries to sing like he has a better voice than he does, and the screams, while pretty solid, and mushed into the instrumentation in a very unsatisfying way. Said instrumentation is solid but perhaps a little too spastic and disparate (i.e. the band sounds like they are not meshing all that well most of the time). A valiant effort but they need to pick and chose sonic elements more carefully, and do something with their production that's?not this.

3.0 good | hadriel | October 9th 23 | Directionally, I really like what they were going for here, but the execution on vocals and mixing just doesn't allow this to hold together in any meaningful way. There's some great moments and I often found there were some nice glimpses of bands like Woods of Ypres, but not enough to really get this into one of my annual favorites like their past couple of releases have.

3.0 good | Robert Davis | October 4th 23 | Album could be so much better if those vocals were to improve. A lot of this reminds me of the latest album from We never learned to live, but the obvious black/sludge/post-metal edges make it stand out much more musically. But yeah, vocals are a real inconsistent aspect.

3.0 good | hesperus | September 29th 23 | i agonized over this rating because there are some legitimately really bold and exciting ideas on display that could have added up to an excellent album, but it all falls apart under an atrocious mixing job
