4.0 excellent | Naomi Lores | February 22nd 24 | I really enjoyed Bleedin' Hearts, but that sound taken to a more familiar and accessible format, for me, was the missing piece. 1000 Times is an anthem, In My Head and Haunted have a sound that is so uniquely Big Blood, but I could show it to my dad. It is the gateway drug for a wonderful world of music!

2.5 average | silly derp | February 8th 24 | Started off intriguing, but as it went on, it started to sound like self-parody through a modern
production lens. Sounds like theyre trying to modernize while also retaining their obscure/culty
qualities. Thing is, I dont know if thats ever gonna work. Their earlier albums truly were
obscure/culty, and those albums had an overall sound to match that. Thats not really something
you can fake - it either is or it isnt. Whereas this album, in its effort to bridge both worlds,
ends up sounding like a neutered version of Big Blood. Some tracks are actually kinda bad, like
Never Ending Nightmare, with its annoying hook and cringey synths that dont fit the vibe at all.
And other tracks like 1000 Times, while not bad per se, just feel like fluff compared to the
cutting poeticism on earlier Big Blood albums. All that said, its still a decent-sounding album,
maybe a good intro for newcomers - I just much, much prefer their earlier stuff.
