On this newest album, the band falls the deepest into shoegaze they have thus far, somewhat moving away from even their most benign noise rock traits. The result is a little too self-uncertain, but admirable nonetheless. Although it does saddens me mildly that those of us who were fans of the band at its most experimental and scuzzy, all those attributes seem to have been relegated into I terludes and occasional deep cut track progressions.
