| 4.0 excellent | ajcollins15 | May 25th 23 | Since the inception of bedroom RnB back in the early 2010s by Frank Ocean, I don?t think I have hated a genre more. Something about the style has always been dry and boring to me (even Frank Ocean is not all that interesting to me; sorry not sorry). But this debut album from Marcus Brown feels like a refreshing and more explosive version of bedroom RnB (more akin to Blood Orange or Solange). With the use of synthpop and 80s freestyle evening movement over the raw and sometimes hazy production of hypnagogic pop, there?s a lot of love and enjoyment from this new album. Although the album can?t be a bit long in points and loses focus, without a doubt this breathes new life into a genre I?ve always hated.

| 3.4 great | Erwann S. EMERITUS | December 18th 23 | The bedroom r&b aesthetic really is enhanced here by the half-pulsating half-Nintendo beats and the psychy half-catchy half-timid vocals. Shame it manages to overstay its welcome despite being only 35mins long.
