Hawkwind in 2023 should have been an awkward and pitiful affair, what with that cover and them being in their 70s and all. There sure is a lot of playing on strengths through which a shroud of ageing tiredness is seeping, but for the whole hour I found myself entertained and rather surprised at the nostalgic sound the band still manages to employ effectively. Just maybe a little too many interludes.
