| 3.4 great | Erwann S. EMERITUS | January 28th 25 | Navy Blue conjures many things leftfield within the modern hip-hop scene (drumless, chipmunk soul, abstract) to deliver a solid major label debut. As Gene said, he doesn't always accompany his lyrics with cool beats or flows.

| 3.5 great | didnt ask to be staff, was made staff anyway, then got demoted for not doing staff stuff | December 28th 23 | Navy Blue has a great presence on the mic with a lot of worthy words to share. But his colleagues he brings on the tape are often less than remarkable and his skill at punching a tune ain't exactly of mub note either. Several tracks here just sort of start and finish without any strong idea or beat, as if to simply be a vessel for Blue's lyrics.

| 3.5 great | aaronrkc | March 27th 23 | Starts off a little slow (on first listen at least), but he back half of this thing is filled with true modern hip-hop gems. Do not skip this album.

| 2.5 average | Sputniks #1 Cacti Hunter | March 25th 23 | Sage?s major label debut falls short due to the amount of hands trying to guide his vision. The soulful loops he crafted for his own releases (and many others) are traded for cookie cutter beats. His normally incredible lyricism has been watered down and placed between extended guest hooks that don?t feel like him at all. Although not an unpleasant listen, this sounds like every commercial conscious rap album that?s dropped in the last few years, and doesn?t have the soul his previous albums had which made them so precious.
