0.0 | qlyxica | May 13th 23 | listen to whatever you want, i dont think anybody should feel coerced to do things. For me the musicality here is spoiled. The liner notes of this album say "Earth is lost! Operation U+5350 is a go!" U+5350 is the unicode for the swastika. The astronauts are sig heil-ing and WTF do you think the SS in the bands name stands for. Heres my two cents: any band that uses overtly neo-nazi aesthetics (regardless of their actual beliefs) is creating a beacon that will attract actual neo-nazis to connect and recruit, whether in comment sections or concerts. These people are counting on you to give them the benefit of the doubt so that ideological white christian nationalists and anti-semites can functionally gather and meet. Its basically socially irresponsible of this band to act as a nazi beacon and discogs for example blacklists them from facilitating the sale of their products as a result. Black metal and psych rock are a beautiful thing: lets not willingly give that away to neo-nazis. This band is anonymous but some basic research connects the dots between vocalist Will Fried and the other members of Hobart Tasmania based bands like Tarot, Wizar'd, Crypt Vapor and Dracula

3.0 good | Gary STAFF | March 15th 23 | Not going to lie: it was really surprising. Not just the out of nowhere-feel of this release, but also the very significant change in the band's style. It's a lot less riff-oriented release (fortunately still tons of awesome guitar solos packed into this album), the synths and clean vocals are far more emphatic than before, plus the new sounds of synthwave and disco brought a totally new vibe for this band - and I'm not sure if I dig it.
