Yes, every song on here is rather similar to the one that came before it, but Aealo is not the kind of album where that counts as a negative. This is folky, high-octane Greek war/melodic black metal - in other words, this is music that makes you wish you had a gladius you could reach after to mercilessly decapitate the nearest fool who bothers you. And the music on offer here is definitely of high quality. Aealo is the type of record that gets your blood flowing and, in a live setting, makes you think you know Greek as you shout and scream along to these anthems of war in grand euphoria. It is an invigorating record that is also catchy as hell, and is a worthy successor to Theogonia, which was outstanding

Another great album by the black metal gods...."Theogonia" still remains my favorite, but "Aealo" has many great songs for unstoppable headbanging with their unique atmosphere, like "Demon Vrosis", One of their best songs they have ever written!

On Aealo, Rotting Christ's formula of Greek choral supporting epic and melodic bm riffs never strays from its path, but damn it's a cool path.
