There Is No Beginning To The Story EP is a five-song EP leading up to Bright Eyes's fouth coming album release (Lifted). The EP is almost a teaser for the upcoming record but still holds the same risky feeling but as always seems to hold it's own as a fine record.

The first track (From A Balance Beam) really takes you into the album and clutches your curiosity for what's to come. Coming from a Catholic school Conor's religious input seems to reflect in his songs some. With lines like "Now I'm staring at the sun, waiting for it to explode. Because a day is gonna come, don't know when but it will come" reflects upon a song on the Lifted album, (Don't Know When But A Day Is Gonna Come).

The Second track (Messenger Bird's Song) is definitely a quieter side to Conor. Other eviews may tell you that this song is a fatal misstep on this EP; I disagree entirely. This song is an acoustic ballad wherein Conor's trademark voice cracks and quivers are bellowed.

The Third Song (We Are Free Men) This heart-cracking song is in my opinion the most influential song on this album. The duet of Conor and his vocal partner on this song really made this song more original and gave an almost warm feeling to the song.

The Fourth Song (Loose Leaves) is a more bouncy, electric, and joyful song of the EP. It's catchy rhythm is jaunty and even cheery in it's whole. It's a really sing-along-song that we don't really see from Conor too often. With fuzzy-vocals and a stomping main beat this catchy combo. gives this song it's own feeling.

The Fifth (Hidden) Track is much like the First song on the full-length (Lifted) album called (The Big Picture).

Nice work for a 'first timer'.

Some hints for improving:

[*]Add a bit more detail to your analysis of the track. You'll see quite some folks will go at lacking detail when they criticise reviews
[*]Some nice hints can be found in the Guidelines. Have a look here: http://www.musicianforums.com/sputnik/guidelines.php
[*]Think about trying out the Overall-format. Some people really write better Overall- than T-by-T-reviews. Maybe write two or three of both formats and see what the feedback of the users is, and decide then which one to keep

Hope that helps
