What really kills this for me is the vocalist. I cant stand at all the clean vocals. The rest is pretty much how I love my prog metal/metalcorerAnother album this year destroyed by bad delivery/tone vocals

the funniest and worst thing about the vocals killing this is their debut had the exact same problem, extremely strong for a pretty under the radar debut prog metal release but the clean vocals were absolutely fucking clown shit sometimes, and then they announced this followup with a new vocalist and he's somehow even fucking clownier.ri enjoy experimentation and weird shit and i can appreciate what he's going for I guess but the execution is so fucking terrible i can't believe anyone can get past that shit. Ossuary is like, unlistenable and I've only been able to get through the album once.

Nothing about the songwriting is compelling, not a single riff exciting. Vocals are horrific. As a big Between the Buried and Me fan, this is far below their level. With btbam their songwriting is actually interesting, and each section is as enthralling as the last, this though is the complete opposite effect.
