4.0 excellent | Blud Vidal | August 20th 22 | This hour-plus jaunt through some of Bach's most well-known works captures that which etched his name into the halls of perpetuity. Among the globally excellent performances, Dubravka Tomsic's performance of the Italian Concerto is a highlight: Tomsic's graceful playing and sense for drama plays up Bach's baroque sensitivities and sets a high standard for other pianists to follow. This record would measure up higher, but the canned production drains just enough vitality to constrain Bach's compositions a tad.
