There have been a massive amount of bands coming into the whole "post rock influenced indie rock thing" one could almost call it a trend. But putting the tag "trend" on this may have many making the assumption that the music is bad, which is not the case at all. Like post rock, the genre this, I guess, sub genre comes from the music never really is bad, it just becomes worn out and boring. So refering back to the subject in question, many of these indie bands use post rock as a disguise to cloak lack of inspiration as well as other inadequacies, but with The Cast Before The Break's sophmore release Still this proves not to be the case. The musicianship is fantastic, the vocals are frail and inspired, and lyrically it is quite brilliant, and like the other '09 indie post rock masterpiece Hospice the post rock aspect is very seamless. Though at times it can get slightly boring, it doesn't keep Still from being an incredible release and one of the best records of the year.
