Alabaster brings some pretty compelling jazzy and twisted production and instrumentation that sure do sound impressive, basically. That said, a lot of this virtuoso writing is somewhat lost in some of the tracks with their mildly shapeless nature. A few times I cought myself having to rewind the song, because I couldn't quite pick up or even really recall what I'd just heard. Not for some innate complexity, but rather for its general style over substance approach.
