Completely removes the atmospherics of some of the best tracks of that era in the search for a
heavier overall mix, which, ultimately, you never truly needed from this band. Just makes the comp
feel overall like a wasted effort, which is unfortunate.

The new harmonies are nicely done and I like the production. At the same time the aggression and
atmosphere feels dialed back.
The previously unhinged solos feel too calculated. Don't get me started on "Done"... The female
vocals sound obnoxious in the chorus and too prominent overall. I keep going back to the originals
thinking this whole collection wasn't needed except for the amazing improvement on the two "Valley
of Sacrifice" parts.
But all of that doesn't matter. Andy was done dirty and that story sullies this release for me.

the bois are back. the mixes are much rougher than the prior versions, which i have no problem with!

I don't see the point in this, I was looking forward to a new version of "Pure" which is one of my all time favourites from these guys but the thing about re-releases is that most people have been listening to these songs for a long time now, and the nostalgia factor kicks in every time you listen to the new versions. It makes you go back to the original tracks because you feel something is "off", and there's also the fact that none of these songs needed to be remixed, they were fine minus the loud production in The Unborn
