4.0 excellent | Bedex | March 11th 22 | Quite appreciable modern jazz with not a huge amount to distinguish it from other similar releases I daresay but with quite some quality to it. There's a bit of a fusion feel throughout, and the first couple of tracks have some good groovy bass to them. The fusion aspect can be detrimental too, with 5 getting a bit annoying with its guitar and other noises. Thankfully 6 compensates by being calmer with some nice flutes, fun drums, and overall a really nice track. 7 is very cool as it feels a bit like vaguely AAL-like prog especially in the intro, but with a jazz sound and cool brass in the back. 8 Brings back the groove of the first few tracks but does get annoying in places, whilst 9 shows very fun rhythms but suffers from the album feeling a bit long. Feels like with a few tracks removed this could be mid 4.0 easily, but as it stands it was a bit too much for me without enough distinguishing elements to make up for it. 3.8

4.5 superb | Gene Gol-Jonsson CONTRIBUTOR | January 31st 22 | Although titled 'Liminal Spaces', this album couldn't have been farther from that definition. Its whole nature is so upfront, it forces its listeners to pay attention and subsequently give up discerning detail due to sheer overwhelming magnanimity of the arrangement and song-writing madness. Nothing liminal about this, all front and forward, erasing all background-ness.

4.0 excellent | Erwann S. STAFF | January 4th 22 | Super dope flowing jazz voguing between fusion madness, spiritual freedom, post-bop compositions, peaceful rest, and a phat heaviness from time to time thanks to the craycray horns. It's constantly moving from ambient to frantic, without ever losing its engaging nature: even the calmer moments beneficiate from expressive performances.
