Review Summary: Here's The Real Post Grunge
I don't know why a Pearl like that didn't Succeed, Maybe because it's an EP.
the Sound we have here is Post Grunge, Alternative Rock with some Grunge Stuff.
The EP opens with the track "Ozone Baby" which starts off with muffled vocals and then comes Brett Scallions' Screaming Vocals, The Song Sounds Very Grunge, It reminds me of the late Layne Staley, Fuel sounds A lot like an Enhanced Version of Silverchair, in addition to Steal the Sound of Seattle a Little.
The second track from the EP "Song For You" already Decays, looks like a filler track even though it's just the beginning of the EP, it's a happy and simple song, nothing special for the EP, but here Fuel Sounds like itself with no trace of Alice In Chains or Silverchair.
The Next Track... Ah... "Shimmer" here's their Biggest Hit Single, This Version sounds much better than the Sunburn Album, this Track is Nostalgic for remembering the 2000s (even though it's a 1996 Track, which is weird ) here's a remnant of what was to come in the 2000s with the Post Grunge Wave.
We're halfway through the album, actually the track "Nothing" makes the divide between the first half and the last, here's Your Best ( In my opinion it's the best track on this EP ) the track has a Surfer vibe reminiscent of summer, they really overdo it with Guitar Solos here, which makes the track even better.
"Sunday Girl" the Fifth Track, Has a Pop Sound, another Happy Song 2000, as always Brett's Vocals never disappoint, this sounds like Punk Pop with Alternative Rock, the song has a solo that doesn't match the atmosphere of the track , but remember that here they were just Getting Started.
"Mary Pretends", oh this here reminds me of Nirvana, with a Silverchair Mix again, the Liveliest of the EP and with Great Guitar Solo, the Lyrics is Really Strange.
And We Make It To The End With "Hideaway" That Could Easily Go Single, The Vocals Sound More Open Here (Did Brett Record This In The Bathroom?) Well it doesn't bring anything Very Interesting and sounds more like a Fill-in just like "Song For You" .
Well, this is ok, They sound like an Improved Version of Silverchair, that might sound kind of dead.
