4.5 superb | ajcollins15 | October 28th 21 | Neoclassical darkwave has seen a lot of progressions the last few years with the likes of Lingua Ignota, but many in the style and sound all stand in a very somber and dark place, with typical reflections on religion and depression. But something about this new Circuit des Yeux project makes the sound not only bright but inviting. This new album seems like the final apex for an artist slowly building into her own, and man what a nearly flawless album to do it on. ?-io? is grand, it?s beautiful, and it?s polarizing in every great way possible.

3.5 great | Gene Gol-Jonsson CONTRIBUTOR | October 28th 21 | I feel like Haley Fohr was afraid of fully utilising her access to an orchestra, as if she were too shy to actually expand it into a proper beast of a record this could have been. I still largely enjoyed it and can see it growing on me even more. Then again, she could have used more tracks like "Vanishing" and not slow dirges liek most others here.
