Review Summary: "Krankhaus holds the most horrifying music ever conceived of".

Angelspit’s music is for messed up people. You know, the kind of people that enjoy tormenting others through insults, torture, murder, etc. Ironically, the band members themselves consider themselves messed up, fully acknowledging it. They once said in an interview, "Ultimately, our music is made angry and fucked up for angry and fucked up people." The thing is, Angelspit love what they do and really couldn’t care less if you find them bizarre. Angelspit is their outlet, it is their method of giving the middle finger to society, acting in complete opposition to its norms. During performances (and even in public places like malls) they wear insane/insanely cool costumes, because they do what they want. Their lyrics trash religions and politics too, for the same reason. Pissed off, they wouldn’t mind pissing you off too. They have a street team called “Angel Spit Cyber Punk Riot Squad”, and really, that’s a good description for the band itself.

Obviously, Angelspit’s anger is the greatest aspect of the band. The band is comprised of a girl (DestroyX) and a guy (ZooG) with vocoders talking/yelling creepily. Described this way, it seems like something terrible, but in reality it’s a ton of fun; Angelspit’s abrasive qualities make the band compelling. It falls under the industrial, gothic, and EMB category, but it is still unlike anything you’ve ever heard before. Krankhaus holds the most horrifying music ever conceived of, which is easily as terrifying as the worst thing you can think of. The scene of bloody corpses is so disturbing, so shocking, that it makes passersby stare at the scene, because they can’t help it. It is the perfect music for ticking off your parent/s, or when you need something to blast while angry.

Krankhaus’s beats sound organic, like a giant worm crawling through the earth. So much distortion is used that beats are unnaturally loud; one might compare them to Sleigh Bells, except that Angelspit came first, and also, this band uses their powers for evil. Loud, aggressive, creepy, and sexy, this album is not for the faint of heart. The only easily digestible aspect of the album is the guitar, which brings a bit of familiarity to the whole thing, but only a bit. Overall, the album forces a strange, horrifying experience upon the listener that will not soon be forgotten. Whether you like it or not (hopefully, you will like it), this certainly is a memorable album.

Willie suggested I try the albums rather than the remixes first, this is actually much more enjoyable. I can easily see this taking over my MP3 player, these guys make some cool music.

Edit: So on the fourth/fifth play-through this is really holding strong, I am becoming a huge fan of the vocal delivery not to mention the lyrics themselves.

I only know 100% and I'm still not sure whether I find it awesome or hilariously bad.

Just re-listened to this before getting into reviewing their new album. Yep, still kind of boring.

On one hand glad to hear that the new album will be reviewed, on the other it's sad to hear that this doesn't strike a good chord with you.

I think mine will be around 20 or so, depends because there's always a strong possibility of me forgetting some.

Well, if it makes any difference, I listened to the old albums again because it felt like the new one was a huge step up and much improved, and I wanted to verify... and it is.
