This came to my attention when looking for more proggy death metal and I noted that one of the first tracks had a nice, groovy heavy metal riff. Turns out this is just Ihsahn with more death metal-y vocals; it's just groovy prog metal. Not a bad thing either. FFO of Tribulation and all that other prog/metal with growled vocals type stuff.

This is still good but they lost the rock and psy touch imo. Its way more dm centered. While prod values are cool and remain revivalist is def way less hypnotic riffingwise, something I really valued on Kuarahy. This would benefit with some shinier prod but on other hand the id set on Kuarahy would be totally lost as well.

Spicy progressive blackened death metal. Opeth-isms aside, there are some absolutely killer grooves on the
latter half. The guitar work is phenomenal, though the Mendez bass seems to garner much of the mixing
spotlight. The resulting aesthetic brings to mind a raw osbm vibe while still retaining enough tweedly-tweedly
punch to feel the sprawling solos. These dudes are improving.
