3.0 good | Gene Gol-Jonsson CONTRIBUTOR | November 17th 21 | At least he's self-aware about the state of things, as this was indeed big and messy. I liked the general semi-industrial/semi-orchestral instrumental side and some of the songs are actually imposing. But for all its strengths, these are some of Elfman's corniest lyrics maybe ever, as well as his most inconsistent and overstaying welcome album.

3.5 great | gryndstone | August 10th 21 | Indeed a big mess, but there's likely an albums worth of favorites for anyone listening. We Belong gets mention for being a quiet, dramatic orchestral piece in a sea of industrial and punk madness

2.0 poor | ajcollins15 | June 16th 21 | There have been a lot of quarantine albums the last year and a half and as the pandemic and quarantine start to go away people are getting back to ?normal living?. So, in many ways, this could be one of the last ones we get, and man what a way to go out. ?Sorry?, the opening song, is a heavy banger with some Avant-prog and Zolo influences that help create an explosive and intriguing start to the album. However, nothing ever hits as hard as this first track, although a few get there. Overall, this really is a mess of an album, and the legendary film orchestrator really threw everything he had at this album just to see what would stick. The best part of the album is the very explorative and sinister lyrics laced throughout the album with obvious stabs at Donald Trump and the political rift we are experiencing in America. Sonically, however, this album is both underwhelming and a mixed bag. The production can be an absolute mess on many of the tracks here. So, I really have a hard time sitting through this double album at 71 minutes in length.

4.0 excellent | jkr5001 | June 16th 21 | Album rules. I was apprehensive about its length, but every song is good and different, but the album itself is cohesive. Definitely recommended for fans of Bowie, NIN, System of a Down, Devin Townsend, and of course Elfman's scores.

4.5 superb | blacktear | June 11th 21 | I really, really enjoyed this album. Despite a few weak tracks I found every other song very good
(some were really creative, like Everybody loves you). I'm really happy that Danny Elfman has
decided to gift us with this project. He earned my respect as a soundtrack composer, now he has it
as a rock musician.

4.0 excellent | chilledpunkrock | June 11th 21 | it is truly bizarre that this sounds so much more out there than his film work and yet it would also fit perfectly in any of those films, late era Scott Walker fans take note because this feels like a poppier version of Bish Bosch at points
