5.0 classic | mrporkchop5 | December 17th 21 | "Break Our Fall" is a dry, emotional album with an underlying 'commentary' on the stages of grief,
which is presented in a unique way. The album is split into "phases" through a collection of songs
that really sets a tone that is incredibly shifting. It helps the album stay fresh, whilst still
maintaining a sense of uniformity despite the fairly dramatic shifts at times.
It is remarkably different from the projects Dispatch has done previously, yet it still has the
DNA that makes it feel familiar. As for the songs individually, there's not much filler content
here, if at all, likely due to how each song paints onto a bigger portrait.. Though some of the
songs are quite dense and not exactly happy.
Overall, I would certainly recommend giving this album a listen. I wouldn't exactly say it's
entirely accessible, but it is quite the artistic endeavor.
