Take Coheed and Cambria, Between the Buried and Me, and Protest the Hero...put them in a room and force them all too mate....the resulting offspring would be The Syncope Threshold. A magnificent blend of all three of the bands I mentioned above. Tale of the Complex Circuit is one of the best independant albums of the year, including some of the best musicianship and vocals. Throw in a killer concept and you get awesomeness. Check this album out!

Woah, this came outta nowhere. Tw1ster's sound off couldn't be more accurate. This definitely needs more attention on this site, easily in my top 5 for '09.

Simply put, Tale of the Complex Circuit is an immature album. Granted, it's a young band with an independently
released debut record but that doesn't wholly excuse poor songwriting and needless self-indulgence. While bright
spots are undoubtedly present, too much of the record is marred by completely unnecessary shredding and gratingly
bad vocal delivery. Yet there is potential: when The Syncope Threshold learn how to write songs and make an album
that does more than scream "look what I can do!", they might have something worthwhile.

At first this hit me like a shit ton of bricks and i was immediately in love with the technicality, the poppiness, the sheer awesomeness, but to be honest, its all a little much and very very kitschy, though entertaining once in a while.

Take a singer who wants to sound like pth but sounds more like coheed+fall out boy, throw in some excellent guitars and interesting drumming, a faux-progressiveness, and awesome moments far outweighed by the stereotypical genre crippling douchery-laden metalcore-cliche ones and you have Tale of the Complex Circuit...An interesting album by a band who isn't quite sure who they want to be yet...

wow. Just joined this site and found some great bands and albums I wasnt aware of, but this album is by far the most surprising (in a good way) stuff I have found so far... glad I read the review
