2.0 poor | Erwann S. STAFF | December 17th 20 | When an album is recorded in ten days, it underlies either a sudden burst of creativity, or rush. L'affranchi falls into the second category. Since this one came out only six months after debut VII, it seems like it's the label's idea to capitalize on this successful but terribly mediocre rapper. Small aside, Def Jam France clearly is one of the least reputable French rap labels, only signing artists because of their commercial potential without taking into account artistic considerations. Koba is slightly less annoying here than on VII, but he has not progressed: he raps the same way about the same subjects. The thing is, he just cannot improve in six months' time. He's the label's cash cow, and he's getting milked hard. It's not Koba's fault per se, but he represents levelling down of the French rap scene. 1.9
