2.8 good | Voivod STAFF | August 28th 21 | For everyone into the know about Sleepin Pillow, Nomik and his associates have admittedly spoiled their fans rotten over the years; however, Nomik is on his own here and he sings in his mother tongue, consciously reaching out to a Greek audience fond of the so-called "entekhno" genre, and its indie, folk and rock tributaries (1999-2000 Porcupine Tree is also a good analogy). Unfortunately, Χαρούμενες Φάτσες is marginally acceptable even for Greek standards, and that is solely due to the second half of songs, which sounds somewhat more interesting. With the exception of "Μεγαλομανία", Nomik fails to make a dent lyric-wise and as a vocalist, succumbing to the banalities of the aforementioned genre and his bag of tricks from Sleepin Pillow; musically, the 9 songs of the album are merely taylor-made air for the corresponding Greek radio circuit. In spite of everything, the sound production, the only positive/virtual legacy from Nomik's main outfit, is top notch. Stream: http://nomik.bandcamp.com/album/-
