Review Summary: The band knows their music and this album showcases that more so than ever.

I've listened to Django Django since their debut. To me, their best SONGS are from the second album, and their best ALBUM is their first. "Found you" and "Giant" are my all time favorite songs followed by "Life's a Beach" and "Wor." Just so you understand where I am coming from.

Didn't like Marble Skies all that much since it started to make the band sound too hokey or sappy. A lot of the songs started good, but it seemed like they lost steam as it went on. Only ten songs as well, made it seem short.

The EP they released after, "Winter's Beach," was a big improvement.

Now onto the new album.

I've only listened to it once, so this is an immediate review. This album is pretty ***ing good!

This is the most variety Django Django has released in an album. Flipping song styles like crazy, they are all a different type of pop/rock music from the last 40-50 years.

Whether its revisiting their old style on "Right the Wrongs," or trying an absolutely different Style of music all together. Like on "Night of a Buffalo" mixing a western sound with a middle eastern tinge. Its an odd pairing, but it works. Definitely a highlight on the album for me.

The, what will no doubt be, most popular song on the album will probably go to "Waking up," as the pairing of Django Django and Charlotte Gainsbourg matches perfectly. The song has so much style, it wouldn't feel out of place on a True Detective Intro.

But that's what makes this album, and this band, so good. Every song is a complete curve ball. A lot of it shouldn't work, but it does. The band knows their music and this album showcases that more so than ever.
