Why the f**k did this not click the other day??? I mean, I must've been seriously f**ked to not immediately notice the Brilliance of this beast. Seriously one of the most brilliant piano pieces I've ever heard. The way the piano virtuosity is blatantly out in the fore-front, while at the same time gently harmonizing with the rest of the ensemble. Impeccable, in every sense of the word. 5/5

When talking of Tchaikovsky, this one is not the first piece we think about. I think he?s most famous for his ballets, with Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, but in the end, I think the Concerto is his best work. The elegancy of the piano and those thundering strings go so well together to form a melancholic masterpiece. The subtlety works so well, creating harmonies that are out of this world. It?s a 40 minute 3 part-piece of true mastery and for sure one of the best classical pieces of all time. Each part adds to the whole without substracting from the other to form this masterpiece switching easily from soft to grandiose, no part is better than the other and that?s a testament to truly great art.

Such a spectacular concerto. Tchaikovsky's piano virtuosity is fully on display, yet it isn't even the best part of it. That is the harmony and interplay between the solo piano and accompanying orchestra. Tchai's previous experience with Symphonies and other orchestral work is shown beatufully.
