A slow swelling sense of melancholy drapes the run time of this phenomenal collaboration of somewhat clashing styles. Both the soft ethereal acoustic pieces and crushing funeral doom of traditional Bell Witch lend themselves perfectly to the spacious lonesome feel of this LP.

Neofolk vs. funeral doom. Truth is, I vibe with neofolk but am rarely in the mood for some funeral doom. The record is great, but suffers from several problems imo. Prod is weird: the bass having a super crunchy tone that I love, but the drums are way too low in the mix and the record thus loses some punch - it's a shame, especially since I would have liked more emphasis on the heaviness brought by the doom parts. Also, the transitions from doom-y neofolk bits to full-on funeral doom are rough around the edges and break the flow of the record. Apart from these issues, it's a great split, bringing an Autumnal atmosphere I shall dig when the leaves are brown and the sky is grey. It's too beautiful these days, imma re-jam Sunbather.

Fantastic return. I am glad they approached this with equal hands in the writing as you can clearly hear a lot of Eriks influence on here. Sometimes it feels more AR with some Bell Witch moments when I would personally prefer the reverse but thats not a slight on AR and I think this works really well and will no doubt be a grower as most good Funeral doom is.

this is held back by the really flat production and 'heaven torn low (the passage)' but it has some wonderful moments. last track is killer. honestly can't help but feel it would have been better if it were just a single LP and tracks 2 and 3 were cut.
