| 4.0 excellent | JimmyCutlass | May 19th 20 | Apparition is the debut album from four Highschool friends from Flagstaff, AZ. Ammon Jack's immature voice pairs well with the raw, underground punk sound of the band. Obvious influences are Blink-182, Green Day, Simple Plan, and Twenty-one Pilots. Some thematic elements are reminiscent of Depeche Mode's Black Celebration. The top track, and one that I hope to see as a single and get national airplay is Deity. From the catchy guitar riffs and infectious chorus, this one is destined to be a hit. Buffy and Like Monopoly are live show gold. Like Monopoly in particular is a perfect show opener. The band's Facebook page says they are back in the studio recording their second album. Will their sophomore album be as good as this. One can only hope. Expect big things from these guys in the future.
