A lot of it reminds me of Pallbearer (the melodic doom parts obviously) but later on the album takes on a braver progressive style, one which utilizes the more extreme components of the band's sound and twists otherwise traditional styles into more adventurous soundscapes-not unlike what Cormorant have been doing since they formed pretty much. As Trey said before, the clean vocals probably stand out as the worst aspect here, but the musicianship is unique enough to keep things fresh and enticing at least in my opinion.
