Review Summary: You should listen to this album. It's pretty good.
As the record begins, we’re greeted with an inharmonious roar with It’s a Setup, one of the better songs on the album. It’s a jarring whirl of frenzied emotion which leads into another highlight, Conditioned Response, which follows the same formula.
There are a few highlights--one that I haven’t named yet is Dreams of Dead Bosses which changes up the mix a little bit, which BFoT are GREAT at doing. They never get boring, not once. This is one of the very few albums I can listen to all the way through without wanting to pause it. That said, I can’t exactly name specific tracks, mostly because there are so many and they usually all have something different to offer.
I don’t mean to sound like this is a perfect album--far from it; it’s just a good time. It doesn’t break new ground; it just adds onto an already added onto genre as a solid release from a relatively solid band. As I previously said, the ambience gets to be a bit much which is a problem that some screamo bands such as Index for Potential Suicide seem to suffer from, but whatever, there’s nothing you can do. The bottom line is you should listen to this album. It’s good.
