4.0 excellent | Brandon Scott EMERITUS | July 2nd 19 | Jute Gyte may be the most singularly innovative black metal act in the last decade. Rising from the crudity of normal raw black metal fare, his microtonal assault is as vicious as it is cerebral, elevating the genre beyond the blunt primitivity of his peers.

2.5 average | zaruyache | July 5th 19 | More coherent 'traditional' songwriting is present this time around, with the two lattermost tracks favoring weird ambient over metal. "Dissected Grace" definitely channels shoegaze music, albeit more atonally and noisy. It somehow sounds like a more chaotic My Bloody Valentine, and that's at least a little commendable. I've always really disliked the microtonality of Jute Gyte, but the more conventional attempt at songwriting here was definitely more to my liking.
