10/29/2008 - I've been a die-hard kmk fan since 2000, so my opinion is obviously biased. I want to like every album so bad, but some need more time to grow on me. Rollin stoned was classic, but since then its been up and down on each album. Last year I thought seemed to be a turning point as cloud 9 was a good listen from the first time.

The Green Album I would say is their most laid-back stoner friendly release to date. If you liked Rest of my life, tangerine sky, rip the night away, can anybody hear me, and pass it around, I think you'll like this album. There are still are a few harder rap songs, but their overall tempo for the album seems to be slower. It doesn't sound like the early years 98-02, which was what got everybody hooked, but I think we have to move on, go to a live show and you can hear all that.

Overall the whole album flows together very well, where you can just pop it in, pass the bowl around and not feel the need to skip tracks, to hurt the mood. There are a couple tracks where you're like wtf, but a lot of them will get repeat plays years from now.

I think they worked harder on this album than in years past, as they said they chose from 60 recorded tracks. It's not as edgy, but certainly their most polished effort to date, and I love it, no need to grow on me.

5/18/2009 - Not that anyone cares, but i was selecting my favorite songs from my whole music collection to fit on my smaller 8gb phone. I got to kmk and i realized that i only put like 5 songs from the green album on it, and like 12 each from high society and rollin' stoned. i think that on my original review of a 5.0 i was just really excited because it was such an improvement in my eyes over koast 2 koast and cloud 9. however upon further consideration it does not even come close to those previously mentioned.

I totally agree with this review, slow catchy songs, but some questionable lyrics. A rock solid album but definitely not their normal style
