3.5 great | Ocean of Noise | May 8th 19 | Buckethead's soundtrack to the new Doom game is an interesting release for him. While I have no
doubt that it works very well as a soundtrack, it also can be seen to serve as a retrospective, or a
"best of" of the Pike series; only one track is brand new, while tracks 2-9 are all standout tracks
from various Pikes. Listeners who are unfamiliar with the Pike series may find this release to be a
useful starting point, as it offers a broad overview of several of the best Pikes in only an 84-
minute runtime. Most of the tracks here showcase Buckethead's melodic metal style, but there
are also some softer moments here (such as "Fastpass" from the fantastic Pike "Drift") and even a
dark ambient track ("Cold Frost part 6" from "2 Days Til Halloween: Cold Frost"). The new track,
"Romero One Mind Any Weapon" is a blistering, dissonant metal track that's worth a listen for
newcomers and seasoned Pike listeners alike. Overall, this is a solid compilation release for
Buckethead, showcasing a variety of great tracks from the Pike series as well as a taste of long-
awaited new material for hardcore fans.

4.0 excellent | MuldeR | May 11th 19 | First track, "Romero One Mind Any Weapon", is the only new track on this release. It's pretty heavy and weird, but still great! The rest of the album consists of "old" Pikes tracks. So, if you followed the Pikes, just get "Romero One Mind Any Weapon"!
