Mephorash have a real problem with length. The songs are intricately produced, well written and memorable, but they all have like 4-5 minutes of additional runtime that could have been cut out, because it really drags the album down.

I'm going to get called hypocritical for making this point, but every single song on this album feels twice as long as they should be. Nonetheless, epic atmosphere and sinister musicianship is the order of the day, even if there's not much to get stuck into for fans of more "challenging" black metal.

Esoteric and occult black metal that takes us on a journey through a mystical monochrome mist. Shem Ha Mephorash is that kind of album that takes some patience and the right mood to fully enjoy, preferably at night.
