Finally, something decent arises out of the jam-rock/Psych genre that doesn't seem stuck in a time warp of worshipping
Boomer Rock.
While it does use many tricks from the era it's taking inspiration from, it manages to meld them with some confident,
modern playing.
So, what does this sound like?
It's a hazy, jam-rock album, it has everything you'd expect but brings in some World and Cinematic influences with a
healthy dose of Jazz to create an actual psychedelic soundscape instead of the forced, blues-jam psych that is the norm.
Keeping the production more organic and less Neo-70's than so many in the genre was a great move, the production is
lively and enhances the hazy sound. Rather than just busting out some Blues riffs with a generic "Stoner" sound, the band
takes the less-travelled road will often make use of Latin American or Middle Eastern scales and let them repeat until they
become slowly hypnotic, putting the listener into a narcotic trance.

Overall, this is a strong record that ditches the cliches and forges its own identity with confidence and purpose in a genre
that has almost become a caricature of itself.
A band to keep an eye on.
