0.0 | breakingthefragile | December 19th 12 | It's pretty unrealistic to expect that any post-Spice Girls female pop group would offer a
collective of women who are all diverse from each other, unique, and memorable. Though you'd
hope that an all girl pop group with a whopping five members would have at least one member
who would stand out from the group and have a distinctive and unique personality of their
own that sets them apart from their peers and other female pop musicians in general; a
diamond in the ruff so to say. However, that is sadly not the case with MTV series-formed
group Danity Kane. There is absolutely nothing on Welcome to the Dollhouse that you
haven't already heard before from any other girl pop group, or just pop music lead by only
one female singer alone. It's almost impossible to distinguish these five girls' voices from
one another - or remember them all for that matter - because none of them offer anything to
the table that one of the other four isn't doing as well. This album is a perfect example of
why listeners don't need five girls all at once to sing to them about the same exact
faceless relationship problems that commonly have only taken one women to discuss
sufficiently. There's only a limited amount of ways one can write a pop song, and Danity
Kane obviously aren't too interested in finding any new ones.
