Remember the sinister plague inspired paintings, especially those by Bruegel, depicting
the suffering and death caused by the Black Death epidemics. This is a soundtrack to
those visions. While listening to this, I can't help visualizing those creepy faces
deformed by horror and pain, and the crazy crowds of the so-called flagellants
hysterically whipping themselves in self-punishment begging God for mercy, because they
believed they are being punished for their sins against God! The music in this great
album is an eerie medieval type of Ambient, thus naturally atmospheric and repetitive,
ridden with church organ sound which makes for a fresh mood.
