A simply-executed debut album from New York’s very own singer-songwriter, Jaymay displays one of the loveliest voices in the genre and has shown some good lyrical talent. Her more prominent songs like “Gray or Blue”, “Autumn Fallin” and “Sea Green See Blue” really demonstrates her full potential. However, her aching and painful vocal attempt at a trumpet solo leaves something to be desired. If you can imagine a voice that resembles Regina Spektor, throw in some Bob Dylan, pack in some melodic grace and lyrical detail, then you have a pretty good idea of what you’re going to listen to. A warm and witty album, Jaymay shows potential but it proves to be an album that many will enjoy.
