A bleak introduction and a failed 60s science experiment. There are coherent tracks on this
EP but with half the EP not matching up to this quality; it's difficult to recommended.

A few good tracks here, a couple decent ones, and one kind of bad one ("Textbook Love"... ugh). Either way this is an intriguing listen as it presents an entirely different sound from everything else Fleet Foxes have produced. Presented here is a surprisingly simple, Beatlesque indie pop sound, only "Icicle Tusk" sounding even remotely like the lush and increasingly complex harmony-laden folk the band has explored ever since. While it's understandable that Pecknold and co have let this release fall into obscurity, it's worth a listen or two for fans of the band, if only to appreciate just how far they've come.
