This album has to be the blueprint of how you can destroy perfectly okay music with an absolutely horrendous vocal approach. This doesn't mean that the band's vocalist has am awful voice, but doom metal needs a grittier approach with a certain bravado instead of the flat one utilized by these guys. Apart from that, Age of Taurus fuse their Candlemass/Trouble doom with NWOBHM elements reminiscent of Angel Witch and provide an interesting and very atmospheric sound. However, I cannot enjoy it because of the vocals, which makes me wonder how the band, the producer and anyone else who listened to this album never questioned the vocal approach...
