Don Airey is not only a living legend and probably the rock keyboardist with the most impressive body of work, but also an amazing player. On One Of A Kind you will listen classic hard rock which sounds quite fresh and has elements from Deep Purple, Rainbow, Gary Moore and Nazareth. The songwriting is interestingly more focused on hard rock than progressive rock (as one might expect) which was a really nice surprise for me and Airey's performance is excellent. The guitar playing is equally fine and my only slight concern is the vocals which I'm sure that I will enjoy in due time. A little bonus is on the second disk where Don and his band play a few classics live and the performance is very good. Long live Don.
