One of the best power metal releases of the year. It is so hard to find really good post-2K power metal with reasonable production that is not over the top and bloated like hell. Palantir bring to mind a few late '90s European power metal bands with their down to earth approach which is based on adventurous songwriting with progressive elements and is reminiscent of Nocturnal Rites and Lost Horizon. The band knows how to write great melodies and combine them with good vocals. Only thing that I would like to see from these guys is slightly more guitar-driven songs but overall this is more than encouraging debut.
