Review Summary: A superb contemporary album with many great influences

I was instantly very impressed with this new album by The Arcana. After listening to Tomorrow Is Yesterday, I was not expecting the kind of style and sound that greeted me on my first listening to Lemon Freddy Phantom Of The Sky. The songs on this album are longer than that of the first album. The last song 'Indigo Dust' is 6.31, which is over twice as long as some of the songs on the first album. This indicated to me a maturity in the development and writing style of the band. This new album also seems to have taken on a different direction in musical style while retaining the essential sound of the band. The juxtaposition of traditional guitar, bass and drums with orchestral instruments works very well. This together with an array of exotic instruments and strange musical sounds make this album exceptional. The album art mixes 20s art deco, 60s psychedelia, cubism and contemporary art in a very interesting and powerful way.

I find the whole concept of the album intriguing. The cover and title in some way gives you a sense ...
