With I Am, Sleeping Giant send off their career with knees bowed and fists high. With their admittedly basic blend of hardcore and metalcore, they undeniably end their career on their terms. Joined by a who's who of the christian metal community for features like Garrett Russell and Ryan Clark, the band makes it very clear they don't care whether their message is off putting. While I usually find this attitude annoying, the band put their message forward without the spineless, holier-than-though attitude of MFF. This album is a band deciding to end exactly as they always performed; they want to praise Jesus with heavy music. While obviously the lyrics will probably put off most nonreligious listeners (and probably a few christian listeners as well), if you can take the lyrics for what they are and enjoy some straight hardcore, this should be an enjoyable experience.
