This is a modern classic. Honestly, this is one of the greats – the composition of Lee Jihoon, known as Woozi, shines brightly, demonstrating a strong musical conmpetence and ability to understand the unique capabilities of the different members and how to adapt style not only to fit with trends but to CREATE trends. What the music doesn't do justice to is the dance compositons, often choreographed by member Kwon Soonyoung, also known as Hoshi, and how they fit elegantly to the music. If only Spotify had a function to show such beautiful dances while listening to the music! Each individual member is incredibly talented in different areas, and this is something that not many groups can boast. One particularly strong area is that of the members of the Hip-hop Unit – rappers Vernon, S. Coups, Wonwoo and Mingyu – and their ability to create catchy, fun verses that highlight their abilities regarding flow, lyric writing and sheer creativity. Yet again, they have the edge over many contemporary rappers – meaningful lyrics that are not intended to offend. "Even though we don’t know/ When our last will be / Even if something happens / And we can’t see each other / Lean on me". Their message promotes self-acceptance, friendship and care for fellow people. Their love for their fans transcends language barriers. Though they can be disregarded by critics as the next passing thing, SEVENTEEN will stick around forever – the imprint their music leaves on South Korea, and the world as a whole, is immeasurable. This is truly a modern classic, boasting such renowned songs such as "Fast Pace", a moody piece with incredible vocal performances from members Jeonghan, Joshua, Seungkwan, DK, and Woozi, as well as a catchy rhythm that may well stick in your head for days (in a good way). Accompanied by a sharp, poignant dance routine executed brilliantly by all members (especially the members of the Performance Team: Hoshi, meaning "star" in Japanese (which couldn't be more true), Dino, Jun and The8), this song is a well-rounded classic. Accompanied with the sweet love song of "Lean on Me" and the award-winning title track "BOOMBOOM", the 3rd Mini Album of Seventeen couldn't be any better, in my opinion. Member DK described them best in the song BOOMBOOM – Seventeen are "filled with passion that can’t be stopped".
