Spirit deliver a well varied rock album of psychedelic, progressive rock, and dashes of jazz. Vocals are softer
with catchy melodies that leave a nice and familiar vintage 60's sound. Some of the instrumental sections on
this album really shine with random drum solos, jazzy bass lines with piano and saxophone, and varied guitar
tones traveling through it all. With upbeat rock riffs that move to and from softer, more progressive jazzy
parts, the guitar has some great moments when it seems to get stuck between the two.
Spirit>Zeppelin in so many ways. While not carbon copies of each other, they are fairly similar minus some
slight differences in sound(Spirit uses more jazz influence, Zeppelin uses more blues). The infamous
"Taurus" vs "Stairway to Heaven" guitar riff that the known legends of rock took from Spirit isn't even the
reason why Spirit is a better artist. Just listen to this album and then their entire discography.
