You wouldn't be wrong to expect some quality material should Earth be a part of it, as they've strayed very steady and strong throughout their illustrious careers. The Bug, a producer of an entirely eclectic mindset, finds himself intertwined with founding member Dylan Carlson, and they show a solid amount of synergy in the songwriting department on Concrete Desert. The record operates very much like a late 2000's Earth record; slow, repetitive, and wholly engrossing in its atmosphere. The Bug adds a plethora of fine-tuned electronic to the concoction, whether it be illbient, ambient dubstep, or just some ambient stylings of his own, that bolster things and gives things another beautiful texture. The record does run a little long, and as such, some songs tend to drag on a bit further than they should, but other than that this is a very pleasant and enveloping ambient/drone collaboration from two guys who you wouldn't think would even know each other, much less have a noticeable chemistry on a record
